Ana Veciana-Suarez is a syndicated columnist for Tribune Content Agency and author of several books, including the forthcoming novel, DULCINEA, to be published at the end of 2022 by Blackstone.
She’s also written the young adult novel, Flight to Freedom and a collection of essays, Birthday Parties in Heaven: Thoughts on Life, Love, Grief, and Other Matters of the Heart. A previous book, The Chin Kiss King: A Novel was nominated for the prestigious IMPAC Award, an international competition in Dublin. Two nonfiction books about the Hispanic media were published by The Media Institute, a think tank in Washington D.C.
In 2019, she was awarded the Cintas Fellowship for Creative Writing. Past recipients include Oscar Hijuelos, Cristina Garcia, and Carmen Maria Machado.
Her commentary is carried weekly in The Miami Herald and several other newspapers and websites. It also has appeared in Readers Digest, O magazine, Woman’s Day, The Washington Post Magazine, Parenting, and Latina and has been included in several anthologies, garnering various journalism awards from the Society of Professional Journalists, the American Society of Feature and Sunday Editors, Women in Communications, and the Florida Society of Newspaper Editors.
She lives in Miami with her husband.
